  • Every Sunday Russian Studies will be hosting a double-feature screening of Soviet and post-Soviet films spanning the 20th and 21st centuries. The series will begin by exploring early Soviet masters of montage along with the pioneers of “mass” film who enjoyed greater success with audiences.     On the death of Josef Stalin in March of 1953, the USSR produced The Great Farewell. Shot in regions across the Soviet Union and points beyond, the film culminated with the dictator’s colossal Red Square funeral. This Soviet paean to Stalin was almost immediately suppressed, on the grounds that it was devoted to a cult of personality. The Great Farewell said farewell until 1988—almost no one saw the film.

    This self-paced spin class will focus on the basics of indoor cycling while building the rider's strength and endurance. We will review proper bike setup, correct form and posture, and learn the basic cycling moves. The class will be 30-40 minutes of cycling with additional pre and post-workout stretching.
